Email Set-up Instructions - Mac Mail for OS 10.3 and up (Panther and up)
Macintosh OSX contains it's own email client. This version of their email program is full featured and convienient for single as well as multiple user accounts. This set up information applies to OSX 10.2 Jaguar for Macintosh.

To create a new Copper.net email account using Apple's Mail program, Start the Mail program, and the select Preferences from the Mail menu.

Click the Accounts icon at the top.
|
|
|
|
When the accounts page loads, you will find a list of anna ctive accounts on the left hand side. Under this list will be a "+" and "-". To add a new account, click the "+".
Complete the information as shown:
Account Type: POP Decsription: Copper.net Email Address: {Your Username}@copper.net Full Name: {Your Name} Incoming Mail Server: mail.copper.net User Name: {Your Username} Password: {Your Password}
NOTE: FOR ALL OTHER DIAL-UP COMPANIES, THE USERNAME NEEDS TO BE THE FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (EXAMPLE@COMPANY.COM)
When finished, click the Server Settings button to configure your outgoing server preferences.

Complete the information as shown:
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.copper.net Server Port: 25 Use SSL: Leave Unchecked
Authentication: Password User Name: {Your Username} Password: {Your Password}
When finished, click OK followed by the red close button to exit the Preferences utility. Your Copper.net email account is now set-up on the Apple Mail program.
